Mentorship & Knowledge of Distinguished Guest Teachers:

Annie Adamson, Katrina Cantu, Tracey Coleman, Avasa Love, Amanda Beckett, and Madison Ryder bring a wealth of experience, knowledge, and inspiration.

Lead instructor Shaunna Sutcliffe is a chronic disease and pain survivor, former desk worker in the field of environmental science, and the owner and operator of Rising Tide Wellness. While suffering from back injury as a desk worker, on top of symptoms of Lyme Disease and Arthritis, she turned to yoga and other natural modalities for managing pain.

She now holds a 500 hr certificate in Yoga Therapeutics with additional training in Primal Vinyasa TM and Health Coaching, certifications in senior yoga, The Roll Model (self-massage), Reiki, Aerial yoga, Yoga for Lymphatics and completed a Trauma Informed Training at Sedona Yoga Fest in 2022.

Yoga, self-massage, somatic movements, and healthy food have helped Shaunna thrive as an active mother, traveler, and surfer.

Her mission is to help others realize their body’s miraculous capacity to heal and thrive through studio offerings and 1:1 health and movement coaching.

    Annie

    In alignment with her belief that the world needs more holistic healers, Annie’s mission is to help other wellness providers explore how they can bring health and vitality to their communities — and enjoy the wealth and abundance that can come from that noble path; studying the systems of natural medicine for nearly three decades.

    Annie’s mentored with world-renowned teachers like Doug Keller, Pixie Lighthorse, and Tami Kent, and has certified a thriving community of yoga practitioners, healers, and healthcare providers in her own clinical body of work through The PRIMAL MEDICINE Academy.

    Today, she works as a clinician and runs a flourishing online business where she offers high-level certification and mentoring programs, coaching individuals to unearth their full potential as movement experts, holistic healers, and profitable small business owners.

    Her work has been featured on Yoga International, Yoga Journal, and Grokker, amongst other prominent wellness platforms.

  • Katrina

    1000 Hr. Cert Yoga Teacher, Reiki Practitioner, & Health and Wellness Enthusiast

    Katrina loves to study yoga, meditation, and self-realization. She is Yoga Certified 1000 hr, Jyotish 1 Certified, & Reiki 1&2 Certified. What she teaches is diverse, a blend of Hatha, Kriya, Vinyasa, Restorative, and Gentle Yoga. She values the importance of breath and movement in daily life. She weaves this into her classes to create an experience that offers an opportunity to feel energized, refreshed, and calm.

    Being an adventurer she has traveled extensively around the globe studying and practicing yoga, meditation, and culture. Her travels and studies have created a unique skill set that flows effortlessly in her teaching.

    These ancient practices have a way of bringing you to your highest self and assisting you in accessing your highest potential! Come along!

  • Tracey

    Tracey received her first 200 hour RYT at Elevate with Jill Knouse. She immediately began teaching Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin. Within a few years she knew her true passion was teaching Yin and so she began her extensive training in this modality. She studied with Annie Au and has a 100 hour certificate in Yin, Acupressure and Chinese Meridians. She also studied Yin with Paul and Suzi Grilley and Paul Terrell. She studied with Sarah Marsh and received a certificate in Trauma Informed Yoga. She is also a NLP Master Practitioner, and a Second Degree Reiki Master.

    Tracey says, “Home is not the country we live in, or the state, city, or even the house we live in. Home is us, it’s our human form, the body and mind we reside in. As Jon Kabat-Zinn says, ‘Where ever you go, there you are’. It is my honor and privilege to help walk people home. I love witnessing people make peace with themselves. I love the moment that they realize that ‘home’ resides inside. My goal is that every person feels seen, that they know their innate value, no matter what state they arrive in. Let’s walk each other home."

  • Madison Ryder

    Madi

    Madison (Madi) Ryder (She/Her) was certified under Kate Holly with Yoga Refuge's 200hr Teacher Training. She has certifications in hot and aerial yoga, as well as a certification in Intro to energy healing and works with chakras in her private yoga sessions. Madi will take charge of our Kid Yoga segment where she will guide us with journaling prompts and an asana practice. Madi has an extensive background in ballet and when she was 14 had her first yoga class with OBT’s summer program. In her last year of college she simultaneously embarked on her teacher training while also performing in an Opera with PSU. She has been a teacher with Rising Tide, previously Epidavros, since the summer of 2019, and enjoys immensely the community of our studio. Outside of the studio she is a long term substitute at Corbett Elementary and Assistant Coaches the Grant High School Dance Team. She has been a teacher to ages 4 to 64 in yoga, academics, dance and theatre, her approach will have you feeling in touch with your silly side, getting comfortable with the uncomfortable and breaking through common insecurities. In this segment of your training you will learn how to adapt your asana to a more user friendly guide and bring back a light heartedness to your practice. Madi hopes to offer you a portal back in time and help to guide you inward as you tap into a primal child-like state.

  • Avasa

    Avasa Love began studying the art of movement in her youth as a dancer, and her journey with Yoga in her teens. She first received her 200hr yoga certification at New York Yoga in 2006 in pursuit of the deeper philosophical wisdom, which brought her to travel and study throughout India in 2007. She has been teaching for over a decade throughout the U.S, enhanced by her background in Dance, Fitness Training, and study in esoteric philosophy.

    Avasa is certified as a Transpersonal Psychologist and Pneuma Breathwork Facilitator through Pneuma Institute, and currently works privately with individuals and couples, as well as leads courses and retreats alongside her husband. As a Counselor and Meditation Teacher her passion is to facilitate holistic healing through resolving the root cause of inner conflicts and the integration of ancient and modern tools that honor the Spirit, Mind, and Body.

    Avasa’s Yoga classes are an extension of her own inner practice, and her expertise is in leading yoga practitioners into the hidden and unknown spaces of their mind and body. She believes that a guide can only take the students to places they have gone themselves. From this perspective, she is resolved to remain forever a student of Yoga, an endless path of union with our Innermost Selves.

    Amanda Beckett was introduced to yoga over 25 years ago and has had a regular, personal practice since 2008. While the benefits of yoga were always known to her, it was through consistent engagement with the practice that brought greater balance and wellness to her life. Amanda brings her passion for creating community, ability to work with students of all types, and sense of humor to those who want to dive deeper and explore the practice together.

    Amanda is a Registered Yoga Instructor certified from the Devanadi School of Yoga & Wellness and Ayurvedic Health Counselor certified from The Shakti School. She combines study in traditional Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga, Tantra, Energy Medicine, and philosophy with Yoga's sister science of Ayurveda to comprehensively work with students and clients of all backgrounds. Additionally, Amanda brings her unique background as a plant-based food business owner and chef along with her expertise in Ayurveda to leverage food as medicine with 1:1 personalized health coaching and community educational opportunities.
